Wooden Roses are produced from birch wood shavings by a specialist machining process, which
produces very thin slats of wood used to construct the petals.
- The petals are first sprayed by hand using vibrant water resistant paints.
- The petals are then glued around a polystyrene ball to form the bud.
- The green leaves are made from fibre which is cut in the shape of 4 leaves.
- The leaves are then glued onto the bottom of the now nearly completed rose.
- In the final stage, a piece of wire covered in a special green paper is inserted into the
rose bud to act as a realistic green stem.
The end result is a startlingly realistic rose.
